- 07/02/07 : A huge big thank you to all of you for supporting the AGM. As usual, I received many comments about the turn out and how smart and well behaved you were. Thanks again and here's to a great golfing year ahead.
- 13/03/07 : Winter Eclectic competition closes this weekend - winners will be posted here.
- 14/03/07 : I've received the draws for the County Knock-Out competitions. In the foursomes, we'll be playing Ravensworth at home. In the 5 man team event we'll be playing away to the winners of the Eaglescliffe v Whickham tie. Details will be posted on your junior notice board.
- 14/03/07 : There are loads of competitions posted on the junior notice board - why not go to the club this weekend and enter your name?
- 18/03/07 : Winter Eclectic results announced - congratulations to Jonathan Carver who beat Ryan Nicholson and Michael Fella by just .5. His winter eclectic gross score was 28 making a nett score of 19.5.
- 28/03/07 : If you want to play for our junior team this season - get yourself down to the club and put your name down. Details of a practice game will be given soon.
- 08/04/07 : Walked around for 9 holes with two 'giants' of our junior section. Michael 'Clapton' Taylor played Brendan 'Tiger' Wilson in the 9 hole competition. Well done to both lads - the game was played in great spirit.
- 08/04/07 : Another Carvey 'Carve-Up' - Harry was runner-up in the Gents 'Pat McCLory' trophy yesterday but his brother Tom went one better by winning our first junior competition. Well done lads.
- 25/04/07 : Team v Whitburn : M.Spence, J.Bloomer, H.Carvey, P.Docherty, J.Carver, T.Carvey, B.Nicholson. Meet in the car park at 4:45 (don't forget your shirt and ties). Good luck lads.
- 06/05/07 : Hat trick! Three of our juniors managed to reduce their handicaps whilst playing in the Bill Brown Trophy today. Congratulations to Harry Carvey, Paul Docherty and Jonathan Carver. Keep it up lads.

- 25/05/07 : 10-0 whitewash. Brilliant result last night when we beat Seaham 10-0 at home.

- 12/06/07 : Big Ben Strikes Again!! What a debut Ben Nicholson made in Senior competition. Ben knocked it around in an incredible 79 to win the Anniversary Singles competition on Sunday 10th June by 3 strokes. I doubt a more impressive debut has ever been made. Ben now plays off 15. Congratulations!
- 12/06/07 : Help required - Captain Keith Porter has asked me to help him to run the now infamous 12th hole challenge on his Captain's day (Saturday 23rd June). Let me know asap if you can help?
- 12/06/07 : All juniors who have team jumpers and shirts - can you wear them and turn up for 12:30 on Saturday please. Black trousers would be good too.
- 21/06/07 : Rain stops play! Our game against Houghton-Le-Spring was abandoned due to thunder and lightning coupled with torrential rain. I'll let you know when it's to be rearranged.
- 21/06/07 : Junior Captains Day has now been arranged. We'll be playing at Ryton on Monday 13th August.
- 21/06/07 : Impromptu 9 hole Stableford competition results - Captain Ant & Docker - 22 Pts, Greggsy and the Wizard - 22 Pts, Jimmy B and JC - 20 Pts and finally The General and Big Ben - 18 Pts.
- 29/06/07 : Still no news about our abandoned game v Houghton-Le-Spring. I'll keep you all informed of prospective dates.
- 29/06/07 : Stunning - Another great victory for the lads last night. We're playing some great stuff at the moment. Thanks again to our loyal supporters - isn't it great watching the kids on these lovely summer nights ......

- 01/07/07 : Junior Club Championship - Congratulations to our champions - Chris Parker (Gross) & Tom Carvey (Nett).
- 01/07/07 : Two more additions to the men's competitions - Ryan Nicholson & Tom Carvey. I've counted 11 juniors who are now eligible. What a fantastic effort.

- 10/07/07 : As some of you may know Mr Alex Patton (The General) let his team mates down badly last week by forgetting his white shirt. He asked me to put this written apology on the website ....
- The General's statement in full : "I is sowy that ayes did not where my wite shirt becos i had work on wednersday and I spilt some bear up here next to my arm {drawing of shirt}. I tried to wass my shirt but it did not dry in time. I did not where my tye eifer bcos I had a funky shirt on and I would have lukd like a pillick. I am a shame to other juniors. I apoligises ... Alix PS I compians cos u put a foto on websyte when i was not lukin at camera. Signed ..........The General"

- 22/07/07 : Big thank you to Tom Carvey & Paul Docherty who helped us out on Lady Captain's Day. We made £36 which has gone to Charity Day. Thanks again lads.

- 22/07/07 : Albert Cameron Trophy - 1 game left in our season and it's now down to 2. Docker leads Jimmy B by 1 point.
- 27/07/07 : Houghton-Le-Spring game now rearranged for Thursday 2nd August. Please be at the club for 4:30 as usual.
- 27/07/07 : Final game of the season - No ties or white shirts for the meal afterwards BUT please wear your most garish/tasteless shirt that you own. Pint for the winner - picked by me on the night of 2nd August.
- 08/08/07 : Junior Captain's Day - Monday 13th August. Meet in the car park at Birtley for around 8:30 - we'll leave at around 8:45. Suggested car sharing as follows: Ant & Matty, James & JC, Alex & Docker, Les - Harry & Tom, Kev - Chris, Ryan & Anne, George - Nathan & Ben. Just a suggestion - we can finalise on the day. Our tee times are booked for 10:00 (8 holes) and 12:40 for 18 holes.
- 13/08/07 : Junior Captain's Day - Hope you enjoyed your day - weather and company was excellent. Winners for the day - Ant Namjou, Jonathan Carver & Ryan Nicholson won the 3 man Texas Scramble with a 4 under par score. Nathan Wilson just pipped Ben Nicholson to win his first junior competition by 1 Pt- well done lads. Ryan Nicholson then did a late double by winning the nearest to the pin and the putting knockout.
- 13/08/07 : Huge thank you from me for the lovely gesture of the engraved ornament together with the vouchers - overwhelmed I was.

- 31/08/07 : Ant has won the Garry Parker (Matchplay) Trophy by defeating Ryan Nicholson at the 5th extra hole. Well done Ant and commiserations to Ryan for a fantastic final.
- 31/08/07 : Another Nicholson victory - this time for Ryan as he won the Jack Golightly Under 16's at South Moor on Tuesday 28th August.
- 31/08/07 : Blast from the past - do you recognise these two? The picture was taken after Jonathan had his first hole in one when playing on his holidays at Scotland. Well done!!
- 11/10/07 AGM Night: All sorted now it's going to be on Saturday 19th January 2008 - normally starts around 7:00 ish. I'll speak to you all before then.
